The P-Family Needs Help

In an earlier post, I mentioned P-Momma's Lupus. Well, over the holidays, things seems to have gotten worse. Now, all of her kids do their homework in the bat cave, and she doesn't have the strength to stand for very long.

The reason that she has to spend the sunny hours in her room is that her sun sensitivity has gotten worse. It also seems that her body is using more energy to fight the disease than she has to give.

After reading about her problems, I did a quick search for UV filtering films that go over windows. I found a company, UV Process Supply, Inc., that makes such a film. There's a few options on which one to get, but the one that looks best to me is the clear film.
Note: If someone with more knowledge of UV can check that, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure if it blocks enough of the UV wavelength to be useful for P-Momma's condition.
UVPS has emailed me the pricing, but I have to find out from Dr. P-Daddy, or the little possums, how much the P-Family actually needs. Then, I can figure out exactly how much it will cost.

Now, the film is not cheap. Considering that I'm not independently wealthy, and my family's finances are still trying to recover from a recent occurence in my home, I won't be able to foot the entire bill. Considering that P-Momma already has medical bills to think of, I wouldn't even think of asking her family to pay for it. So, I'm asking my readers (all 10 of you) if you will contribute. If enough are willing, it won't take as much to fill the P-Family's need.

If you are interested in donating, contact me at berlzebub_at_gmail_dot_com (I'm trying to avoid spam email). All of the donations will go to help P-Momma, and any remainder will be returned to you (unless you also want to donate the excess)[Note: This offer is being canceled, due to no one taking me up on it, and the difficulty it may cause once all of the money is in]. If there is enough extra, we might be able to buy her a stool, so her head will be higher than the counter when she works in the kitchen.

If you don't want to donate, stop by her blog and give her, and the family, some support. There are many doing so, with only one Xian giving her grief.

Update: Due to popular request, and Princess' recommendation, I've created a Paypal account to get donations. The email to send donations to is berlzebub_at_gmail_dot_com. Thanks to all who are willing to participate.

My email system is down right now (I'm on a friend's dial up and I'm not sure how secure it is), but I do want to donate. If you can email me at Maggie Rosethorn @aol.com with more info, when I'm back online I'll happily donate what I can. Or, if you can set up a paypal account for Pmomma, that would be better. I can easily donate from there.

Your request has been granted, ladies. I've opened a Paypal account, just for this purpose.

If there's something wrong with how I set it up, please let me know.

Has anyone asked PZ to put a link up to this?

I strongly suggest the PZ idea. When I put up a list of charities, the surge in pageviews was unbelievable.

Im sure of 3000 people gve 5-10 dollars, that should be enough. But in the face of keeping track of all that, I would rescind the offer to pay people back the extra. I'm sure there are plenty of windows and other expenses associated with managing lupus that are more important then keeping track of who sent what.

Hi: I posted on PMomma's blog to you, but I wasn't sure if you still reading the thread.
I've been having a hard time finding aluminum awnings online, but I have a brouchure at home: i'll take a look tonight. Fabric awnings seems to be about $200 a window.
I also found these UV blocking shades. Thought you might want to look.
